About a week or so after I got back Lance's whole family came to visit and take a summer vacation here. His mom two sisters and nieces and nephews got here tuesday night and then his dad brother and brother in law came thursday night and it was so much fun. I love being around his family and spending time with them, especially all the kids. We went to Legoland Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then a half day at Legoland on Saturday and then spent the rest of the day at the beach. Where I and a few others got pretty sunburnt, but I'm crossing my fingers it wont peel and it'll just stay a tan :] Then we went to church on Sunday and went out to eat and they were off back to AZ. It was so fun to have them all visit I always enjoy having people come stay with us.
Also just a couple days before our family came our refrigerator and washer decided to bum out! I was starting to think our house was already falling apart. We just barely bought our washer and dryer brand spankin new in May too so my first thoughts were...you've gotta be joking. But after re-scheduling the appointment about 5 times cause of plans changing the guy came to fix it and turns out our washer is just hi-tech and the loud banging noises it was making was just it trying to balance out the clothes inside evenly by itself. Who woulda thought?? I wouldn't have ever been able to figure it out though cause after pushing certain buttons and turning the nob a certain way the screen gave some code that told the guy that that's what was wrong. Thank goodness. And as for our fridge, they just brought us a new one after they looked and saw that ours was broken.
Okay, Lance hates this show and tells me every time I watch it that it's so fake and dumb and maybe it is, but it's still one of the guilty pleasures and makes Mondays more exciting. The Bachelorette. I. Love. It. I watch it every season and it never fails to amuse me. It's down to the final two which one of I kinda knew was going to be there (JP) and then once I didnt think so much (Ben F.) After the hometowns I was really rooting for Constitine, but he's gone and now and I've been a fan of JP most of the show until this last episode and now I'm kind of leaning more towards Ben F. I think they're just so cute and funny, but so open and honest at the same time without having to force it or make it a point that they are trying to be open. I cant wait to see who she chooses.
While Lance is gone at work and after I get up and clean and house and do the laundry I usually get on the computer and either watch some TV or blog or facebook stalk people for a little bit before I shower and get ready before Lance comes home. Sounds pretty pathetic I know, I need to figure out some other things to do, but one of my favorite kind of blogs to look through are the food ones. I spent about an hour+ going through my cousin's blog here! and found soo many recipes I want to and already have tried. I wrote down the recipes and the things we needed from the store and text Lance I had some things I wanted to make, but that we needed to get a few things which turned out to be a little more than a few things.. like 95$ worth.. hahah but hey! thats okay, the good food is well worth it I think. First I made some White Chicken Chili which was so yummy, but I wasn't feeling too good so I saved the extra and heated it up for lunch the next day. I made some Buttermilk Syrup- best syrup in my life! (she put the recipe at the bottom of her post so just scroll down) to go with the French toast I made Lance for breakfast (seriously, you have to try it if you never have or if you just like maple syrup, its a million times better). Then last night I made Homemade Sloppy Joes and we didnt have any bread so I made these Delicious Rolls to go with it and it turned out soooo yummy, you've gotta try it, espeically if you like things to have a little kick to them like me- this meat is so perfect and depending on what brand of pepper jack cheese you get for your white chili will make it a little spicy too. And then of course I had to make some of these wonderful heaven in a cookie form- cookies. I'm tellin' you, gotta try em. I took a picture of our plates last night before we devoured our sloppy joes.
On an ending note I'll share the picture I took of me and Lances day at the beach yesterday since he got off work wayyy early due to the power going out- WooooHooo for that!
Sadly this is the only picture I have because Lance doesn't like pictures even though I still took some on his phone of me smiling and him just laying there getting his tan on, but he wouldnt let me send them to my phone haha oh well. But anyways we drove to Coronado first, but it was packed so we drove back down to Imperial Beach but it was pretty packed too so we just got cash out at 7-Eleven ( hence the Big Gulp, which actually turned out to be a "SUPER" Big Gulp that costs a whole $1.79, I mean its only 1.79, but really? for a big gulp?) and we went to the Silver Strand State beach, which is where we always end up going anyways. On our way we stopped by Wal-Mart to get some beach towels, games, and boogie boards and we laid out and boogie boarded together. Besides the nasty seaweed that wraps around your legs while your swimming and the Seagulls that attacked our bag of chips and other snacks while we were out in the water it was a really fun day and trip to the beach.
Well I think that is enough rambles and shorts stories for now, until next time.
